This week our focus has been on geometry. Our independent activities were pattern blocks and geo-shapes. We have been learning how to manage our own learning and be accountable for the work that we have done. In the pattern blocks activity we have to use the blocks to create a range of images using rotation, reflection and translation. In the geo-shapes activity we are exploring a range of 3D shapes, their attributes and what they are called. We have been exploring co-ordinates on maps to locate objects and using co-ordinates to draw shapes. Callum is showing us how he reflected the shapes he created and explaining the new co-ordinates used to draw these shapes. We also had some sandpit time on Glencoe Maths using the pattern blocks in the manipulatives to complete our independent activity. Aryan and Singa were our go to experts who worked out quickly how to rotate the different shapes.
